Michael Richardson
Acoustic Consultant
Michael Richardson joined CSP Acoustics in October 2016. Michael is qualified in Sound Engineering, specialising in environmental acoustics, building acoustics and noise control and is an Associate member of the Institute of Acoustics. Immediately before joining CSP Acoustics, Michael worked for Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors (FCBC); a joint venture consisting of Morrison Construction, American Bridge, Dragados and Hochtief, on the new construction of the Queensferry Crossing. Michael’s scope of works during the project included:
- Responsibility for the 16 sound level meters and 10 vibration monitors on site; creating monthly reports on noise and vibration levels at all monitoring locations for presentation on the Transport Scotland website
- Downloading data and monitoring for any construction noise exceeding the criteria set in the Forth Crossing Act 2011
- Implementing measures to mitigate future problems
- Meeting the local authority’s monthly acoustic and vibration performance targets
- Dealing with complaints and reporting on outcomes
- Carrying out noise surveys of new plant and night-time works to maintain compliance with regulations
